Tonight is our second ever match as a brand new team. We are looking to build on the momentum we had from our first game. I believe we have a team of talented cricketers, and I know we will be able to win this match if we come together and perform to the best of our abilities.
However, mostly I am just happy to be able to play cricket with brothers. So let’s enjoy ourselves and play with a smile but also…let’s go and win!
Finally, I am reminded of what the Bible says: “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and patience towards one another” (Colossians 3:12). As a church-based team, this is the way I would like us to be towards each other and others.
